Recently I was asked to design some title sequence and bumpers for an upcoming show that is being pitched and will hopefully get picked up called “Who’s Gonna Love Me”.

The show is a series of skits based on body humor (not for the faint of heart) and combines this humor with some really funny situations.

For each of the comedy segments the “bumpers” would serve as a palette cleanser before the next skit starts. The idea is also that the “bumper” would reference the skit that you had just seen (somewhat like punctuation) to let you know that the skit is over and it’s time to move on to the next one.

The request was for abstract shapes at first, but then I thought, what about adding in a character or element from the previous skit as a common frame of reference for what you had just seen (abstract shapes just seemed really random to me.)

As for the #title, looking back on it I think I could have done even more to make it more interesting, but we decided to go with a font that was fun and bold, while also using a tiled background pattern that would slowly animate behind the text.

As of this writing we are also planning on doing a fun extended end credit scroll, but we haven’t gotten there yet.
